| Seattle Bank CEO Survives Fatal Plane Crash |

The president and CEO of Seattle-based WaFd Bank, Brent Beardall, was hospitalized after the private plane he was in crashed seconds after takeoff. The 51-year-old executive was on board the plane with another WaFd executive who suffered minor injuries. The pilot, Nathan Ricks, a well-known Utah businessman and WaFd client, died in the crash. Mr. Beardall, after several surgeries, is expected to make a full recover. Beardall became CEO of WaFd in 2017 and his total annual compensation is reportedly over $3.6 million.
